My wife has a Canon MX-870 for which I decided to obtain and install a CIIS into as she was going through OEM cartridges at a great rate with her Machine Embroidery Hobby.

I researched a number of these systems and on the recommendation of a Machine Embroidery professional (Wifes acquaintance) I finally went with the MIR-AUS ROBUST-V4 system.

We live in Melbourne Victoria and purchased the subject system on-line approx 3.00pm on a week day. It arrived from Sydney NSW at lunchtime the following day.

After reading the installation instructions in PDF format on the MIR-AUS site I commenced installing same.

The preparation and cartridge instal was very easy and straight forward, however the location and instal of the actual ink hose/pipe line was another matter all together.

After a call to MIR-AUS who were very helpful, and watching a Youtube video I finally figured it out.

There was nothing highly technical about the aforementioned ink line install at all, all I had to do was mount it right of centre instead of left of centre as I was trying to do.

MIR-AUS had supplied all the necessary install clips etc and all was good.

Comment:

Since the install of the MIR-AUS ROBUST-V4 system my wife has printed a number of large multicoloured Machine Embroidery patterns.

A comparison with similar patterns printed using OEM cartridges showed a marked difference between the two ink systems.

The MIR-AUS inks/colours were more realistic colours and vibrant in their visual effect/s. My wife has commented over and over again how realistic the colours are compared to the OEM cartridges.

I have no comments on other MIR-AUS products such as replacement inks etc as we havent arrived at that stage yet

Conclusion:

(1) MIR-AUS supplied an excellent quality product
(2) MIR-AUS supplied the said product in an unbelievable fast time. Fastest delivery time of any on-line provider I have ever used. Very impressive.
(3) MIR-AUS CIIS system is very user friendly to use and install
(4) MIR-AUS pricing coupled with no delivery cost was excellent and a pleasant surprise for a change.
(5) MIR-AUS instructions both written and pictorial/video re the placement and fixing of the ink pipeline were unclear and inadequate in this instance, however, once I figured it out, it was very simple and straight forward.

Recommendation:

I have no problem/s whatsoever in highly recommending this particular product - The ROBUST-V4 - for the Canon MX-870 from MIR-AUS.

Very impressed with fast service and Express Delivery.
The inks are excellent; pigment does not run and the dye inks too are almost water resistant. I have the Canon IP4950 which has one pigment black and 4 dye inks.

Great product and excellent service and advice. I can recommend MIR-AUS to anybody. Personally I feel that the installation instructions for the product should be more model specific and directed more towards the first time or novice printer user rather than assuming that everybody who is an experienced computer user is also as experienced with printers and their mechanisms. The YouTube videos are somewhat lacking.

Simply Brilliant. Again MIR-Aust have proven how good they are. After purchasing a CISS for you Epson Workforce 840, I was stunned when I got over 1500 sheets and still had ink left.

I ordered a black ink to refill my CISS ordered Saturday arrived Wednesday and I am halfway across the country.

extremely impressed with the speed of delivery - took about 25 minutes to set up, then a few test runs to remove air bubbles. the results are at least as good as with the original cartridges and the bleed and penetrate results are bettewr on photo paper. This has been great guys. After the inital setup was right it has worked a treat, I cant get over how easy it is to use. With the chip reset can be back up and running in a couple of minutes, the ink quality is excellent. We lost one of our dogs recently and we printed up full size A4 Photos for half a dozen of our friends and the reproduction was nothing short of stunning.

For those who are worrying that the photo reproduction wont be as good using the ink from MIR Aus, you have nothing to worry about. Reproduction is as sharp and clear as the OEM ink.

Extremely happy with the speed of delivery. Products were wrapped well and arrived undamaged.

Only criticism is having to hold finger over breather hole when installing ink tanks. Would be much better if you could introduce ink tanks with a closeable breather - close it to install then open for use...

I recieved the refillable cartridges within two days of my order and with the help of the online instructions we had the Epson NX130 printer running again in about 30 minutes. I am very happy with the service and the product. The only thing that did happen was the little rubber flap on the ink hole bung broke off very easy, but I have replaced it with one of the bungs that come from the other hole that we have to leave out. Apart from that I am very happy and glad that I bought the catridges.

Early in February I purchased a Canon PIXMA IP4950 Printer with the intention of purchasing a CIFS. After viewing a few printer forums and CISS suppliers I decided, against the advice of a number of Forum contributers, to purchase from MIR-AUS the new Robust CISS. I liked that the ink is manufactured to ISO standards and the ink manufacturer is disclosed for all to see. I also requested information late one night and received a reply from Mirali within 15 minutes! I ordered one day and received the package the next. The only fault I could find was very slight leakage from two of the ink containers during transport. Just smeared on the outside of the ink containers but still contained within the sealed package inside the box. I installed the system into the printer the day I received it and have printed documents and photos without any problems for the last three weeks from the very first try . If both the printer and ink system continue to operate as they are then I will be a very happy chappie. Based on my limited experience with MIR-AUS I would certainly recommend them as suppliers.

Canon Pixma MP500
Ordered the CISS from MIR-AUS on Thur afternoon and received it Fri, the delivery was super fast. The product is very high quality and was working and functioning straight out of the box. It did take alittle time to install into the printer, I had to hit YouTube for a video on the MP500 as the instructions are for all Canon printers. BUT! got it up and running, works great, prints are great would recommend this product to anyone. Thanks for a great product and service. Hi Mir-Aus.

My FLY V.3 CISS arrived the day after I ordered it. Its a very neat little unit and fitted well to my old Epson Stylus Photo R230 printer.

My only slightly negative comment concerns the instructions. I found them a little confusing until I realized theyd been photocopied from a booklet which put the pages out of sequence.

It may be helpful for others if you did some digital fiddling with the pages to get them into the correct order for future copies. :-)

My CISS is working well. Its SUCH a great idea and has made my old printer worth using again.

I ound the MIR-AUS ink system to be a great improvement on using cartridges, even those that arepretty cheap, $5.60 each dont come near this system. The only thing I didnt know was that I had to make some minor alterations to my Epsom printer lid to allow the lid to close over the ink tubes.
Otherwise the system is great and Ill continue to use it as long as the printer lasts the distance.

The contents was supposed to include instructions, but you have to download them. The instructions are generic and so did not apply to the CISS that I received - so you have to figure a fair bit out for yourself. I got hem going, partly because i take things slowly and carefully, partly because this is third CISS (on different printers) and partly through trawling youtube for videos.

Your web site help is good, but in the case of the Work force Epson 633 CISS it would have been better with better instructions as this model is quite different I had a lot of trouble with lid closing, scanner not closed warning but overall very pleased with final results and ink.

ps I am now ordering another a 2nd Workforce 633 Ciss today. If you can send any further fitting advice re scanner etc will appreciate. But on this model I can probably give you more info as I think I have mastered this model at last!!

Honestly, i havent yet used any of the ink i have purchased but i can say it arrived in the mail within two day which is great =), the only bad thing was that one of the ink bottles was partially leaking, so the leaked ink went all over the other bottles giving me a nice little job of cleaning =(

I have a Canon MP600 printer and refill the cartridges using ink from MIR-AUS. The ink is of good quality and colour, the price is right and delivery is outstanding.
How to refill:
1. Drill hole in top of cartridge.
2. Replace orange cap securely on bottom of cartridge by holding in place with masking tape.
3. Fill cartridge using syringe.
4. Seal hole in top of tank with small dab of silicone sealant and tape over.

Package came in good condition. Id like to suggest that you consider changing the shape of the 500 ml and larger bottles so that it is easier to get a 50ml syringe down into the bottle to extract the ink.

As it stands at the moment I have to tilt the bottle on one side so that I can get the needle into the ink and draw up increasing the risk of spillage.

MIR-AUS Svar: Dear George, Thanks for your suggestion, The best way to use big bottle of the ink is use funnel for refilling not syringes. our 100ml ink bottle will comes with special lid which you can refill it very easy, also you can refill refillable cartridges with our 100ml bottles.

I was very impressed with how quickly I received my order and the printer functioned perfectly straight out of the box. (Thank you!)

The A+B cartridges have me really intrigued. I have been a R***C CISS user and that gear saw two Brother DCP 130C printers out before I abandoned it. I can see real possibilities in keeping a spare set of cartridges filled and ready for the Epson TX650 and am waiting impatiently for the original cartridges to empty so I can try this system.

Another thing that intrigues me is the availability of head cleaner fluid. Has anyone tried keeping a spare cartridge filled with cleaner to pop into the print head if a particular colour cell gets difficult to clean in the conventional fashion? If that is an acceptable approach it would save the syringe and hose technique.

May I wish you blokes at Mir-Aus every success. People who do serious printing need you desperately!

I would like to stress how delighted i am with your product !! I am a Graphic Designer and go through a lot of ink, proofing designs before i send them to print. I have never been happier, before i changed my ink i printed out some graphics with the genuine HP ink in Best Quality. Then changed over to the CISS and the Quality was perfect, I honestly could not tell the difference, perhaps maybe 1 - 2% Absolute Minimal and that would be with a fine tooth comb ! I have already printed 60 x 28 page brochures and my ink is STILL going !! I could only imagine the price it would cost me to do that with Ordinary HP products !!
Your staff were exceptionally helpful, explained the procedure and gave me some tips, let me know about the videos and made it all so easy !

I am having some difficulty in getting the system working, but it is my fault. I will let things settle for a few days, as I have done everything wrong that can be done wrong. To jog peoples memory, my CISS was purchased for my new Canon iP4850. The reason I went MIR-AUS was because, of the two major suppliers in Australia, only MIR could supply a system for my other printer, a Canon Pro9000 Mark II (an A3 device). I have yet to purchase the CISS for the A3 printer, but its imminent.

Well, the good news is, I'm really happy with MIR-AUS and their CISS.

There is no bad news, unless you count the following;

- initial set-up was fiddly, but MIR were always just a phone call away to help, strangely even in the middle of the night. My second CISS set-up will be a breeze.

- Two days ago I accidently ran my first ink tank dry. So immediately purchased my first ink resupply from them which arrived here in Adelaide today (ordered 19:00 Wed – arrived 14:30 Friday via DHL. Beautifully packaged). This 'running dry' meant that today at 17:00 I found the individual tube in the pipeline for that particular colour had emptied itself when I had run it dry. So, under pressure to complete a job I phoned MIR for advice. Mirali spent 3 minutes talking me through the recovery and it worked like a charm.

A couple of months back when I set up the system, I incorrectly modified the plastic jigs provided to support the ink pipeline in the printer. It worked but looked a bit daggy so I rang MIR to purchase another pack of these things. They sent the new kit totally free of charge. Small thing I know, but it makes you feel good.

When I ordered my supply of inks on Wednesday on-line, I accidently ordered the particular ink for a different Canon cartridge/printer. Within minutes I received an email from MIR-AUS pointing out that the ordered ink was not suitable for the Canon iP4850 printer THAT THEY HAD ON FILE FOR ME AND BELIEVED I OWNED. How's that for service? I jumped straight on the phone, they told me the error of my ways and said that the order would be corrected before it went to the warehouse the next day.

So, at the moment I'm still greatly impressed with the system and MIR-AUS. Love the printing. Just today I've printed almost 1500x colour photo and black text pages all on standard Reflex paper without a hitch.

So I reckon I've now learned all about it, and have ticked all the boxes.

I'm going to feel comfortable now buying the MIR-AUS CISS for my A3 printer.

If the above wrap doesn't get me a lifetime 10% price reduction from MIR-AUS, then I don't know what will. How about it Mirali?

Watched the video on youtube and followed the instructions exactly but when I tried to run the printer the ink cable kept getting jammed and making the printer stop and show error messages. The trouble was that in the video , the ink cable came out from the cartridges on the right hand side but the ones I got came out from the left. Once i worked this out (after a lot of swearing), I reversed everything around to suit and now have a printer that works perfectly. I am VERY pleased with the system overall now and the ink prints as good as the original Canon ink. Despite my rocky start with this ink system I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, it is great.

I have a Epson 1410 Printer and was spending a small fortune on ink printing DVD covers then i bought a continuous ink system from MIR-AUS and my cost per print dropped more than 90%. The print quality is excellent and the service including fast delivery was better than expected. I only wish some other companies i have to deal with were as good. I would recommend MIR-AUS to anybody looking to cut costs without losing quality. The only thing you have to do is make you use the right paper stock for the result you want.

Hi,

Thank you for the CIS for epson tx650, I have had a 2 others from you for previous epson models. This time I have upgraded to the High Quality ink. Before I was printing wedding photos and now I am printing baby photos which have a lot of colours in them and usually are quite bright and need good skin tone reproduction, and i must say I am very impressed with the quality of ink, I use to be a printer service person for Epson, Canon, and Kyocera, and I have seen the effects of non geniune ink having havic on the print heads, but I feel very safe to recomend this product. On high speed , high resolutions such as the Epson range, I would recomend use of the High quality inks, mainly because the standard ink after a few photos does leave a few bubles or droplets on the photos from excess ink if printing a high volume of continous photos. I havent had this problem with the High quality ink and once again blown away by the colour reproduction. The only hassle i did have which is very minor is that the TX650 requires the Scanner cover to be completly shut for it to print and usually the hoses keep it slightly open and also rub against the scanner cover which can cause allignment problems from time to time. But I managed to find the right position for it and printed 20 A4 photos in a row with out any problems. Also Cartridges have to be locked down properly or one of the colours with cause a unrecognised cartridge error. I usually push down catridges tightly then push forward and up the locking tabs at the top of each cartridge to make sure there locked in.

I bought the CISS for a Canon IP 4850. It was fairly easy to install. Just make sure you read the included manual a few times before attempting installation, or it can get messy quickly.
I only wish that there was an option to have it coming with chips preinstalled, but that's just a 5 minutes job to do.

My only comment is rhat the instructions on how to refill were hard to find and some important information missing.
Example: Do yo fill the cartridge right to the top ?.
The small window hidden by part B showing the minimum quantity is not mentioned.
Does the chip reset itself each time the cartridge is refilled ?.

MIR-AUS Svar: Dear Mervyn, Thanks for your feedback, all instructions are available online @ instruction page. By the-way, When you want to refill the part B, you must remove the cartridges first, Then you can refill them ~10-12ml inks (refill the ink from top of the cartridges). [All A+B refillable cartridges have 2 plugs, The clear plug we call travel plug and must be open all the time and coloury plug is for refilling and must be close after you refill the ink.] About chipset of refilling cartridges, When you remove the cartridges, Connection of chip-set and printer head will disconnect. As you know the chip-set is readonly, Then when you re-install it again, Your printer will find it as a new full cartridges. If you need more help please advise me via email. we are online from 8 am till 11 pm every day.

I recently placed an order with MIR-Aus for refillable ink cartridges for an Epson Stylus T40W printer. After a day or so I received the product, but initially had some problems getting the printer to recognize the cartiriges.
However the staff at MIR-Aus were exceptionally helpful with exchanges of several emails and eventually a telephone conversation guiding me through the installation process whish was successful.
I am grateful for the patience and time afforded to me by MIR-Aus, especially as the problem turned out to be of an error on my part in the installation process. I product is now performing OK and I am thank MIR-Aus for helping me to rectify the problem

I placed my order just after 4pm on Friday, and it arrived (in Melbourne) just after 11am today (Monday)!

I ordered refillable (two-part) cartridges for an Epson TX710W, along with ink, head cleaner and syringes.

The two part (A/B) cartridges seem to be good quality.

I'm waiting 'till the genuine cartridges start running out before installing, so can't comment on the operation or ink quality yet. I have just replaced the black (my last spare cartridge), so might be another week or so (will depend mainly on the kids...).
Seems a shame I won't be dropping them straight in the printer, given how quickly they got here,

The installation went like clockwork.

Only downside, was the instructions never told me I would have to cut away a little of the plastic around the tray. ( which was easily preformed ).
To accommodate one of the ink pipeline holders.
Which would allow the printer cover to close almost fully.

How do I refill the ink reservoir for a CIS and how do I know that the CIS needs refilling? Maybe don't want to wait till it is empty as then will get air in ink lines. I have HP L7590.

Note I think you could show the whole ink lifecycle in a cartoon - see "dropbox" video on web as example..

Epson T40W Great to deal with, could not be more helpful. Very fast delivery. Suggest a printed leaflet with the part a & b empty cartridges regarding the removal of the extra plug in the top. I have been using both genuine & re-filled cartridges & have attempted to refill them myself from other brand ink kit, but there is so much down time caused by changing cartridges, head cleaning & troubleshooting that I was about to replace the printer. What a super product!
I've just finished installing my CISS for my Canon 4300, following your instructions as closely as I could. But 2 things caught me out and I wonder if any of your other customers had the same problems?
1. With the FLY V.3 tanks, leaving the air balance compartment plug out as a final step, isn't made all that clear.
2. More importantly, you say to close the pipeline lock during installation, but there's no mention of opening it again. I was left wondering why I couldn't get a decent nozzle check!
Otherwise, it looks like a good system. Well done.

Instructions a little vague and lacking in detail.
At least the set I found was maybe others I missed.
Sent Email and recieved inear nstant response by phone which was much appreciated.

One needle missing ( Tubes all present one tip missing)
So far have not sited tip. Using Photo Black Tip with Matt Black.

Other than that the KIT WORKS and with slight adjustments can be adapted to EPSON or Other Profiles. (IF YOU HAVE PHOTOSHOP or the ILK)
Tends to print warm with Piezo Nano Chrome INKSET.

Ensure that Screen calibration is OK and Profiling of the Printer/ink/paper is done and it all works great - Non Profiled printing will tend to give a Magenta cast to the print out on epson paper

Please provide some extra washer and pipe holders and most importantly one pair of hand gloves ( you can charge extra for that) as my hands are colourfull now.

Hi Mirali, I have now been running MIR-AUS refillable two part cartridges with high quality dye ink in my Epson TX300F for about 5 months. I cannot fault the results, and am now enjoying the benefits of drastically reduced printing costs.
The installation was very simple - although I did find the instructions a little difficult to follow at first. Perhaps this is one area that you could improve.

I was sick of running out of ink on my Epson Photo R310. Now I can print anything, Photos, DVDs without worry. Usually I print only a minimum of things to conserve ink, concerned that I'll soon have to spend another $100 buying ink cartridges. I have seen these types of systems advertised years ago and only recently have I ventured to get one. I don't know why I took so long to do it, it's been terrific. The inks dry very quickly on photo or DVD media and I can handle them immediately. The colours are good too. A little fiddly to install because of the cartridge retainer but no major problems that a bit of thinking and patience cannot solve. Great product.

Canon Pro9000. Installed and working well. The parts did not match those showen in the installation videos (2) and I had to modify the installation layout to fit. There was no installation manual with the kit as originally described. The video showed air filter caps to go into the top of the storage tanks but these were not in the kit. canon ip4700 1. Very nicely packaged 2. The instructions said that a set of tweezers was supplied, but none were supplied. 3. Canon IP4200. CISS delivered VERY quickly through Express Post, The instructions are a bit vague about setting up air balance in the mbox units, it shouldn't be done until after the cartridges are instlled in the print head. Other than that, the set-up is really easy and the high quality inks are just that. The last time I had prints this good was when I was using the original Chromalife inks and paper from Canon. CISS for EPSON TX100 73N. Thanks for the prompt delivery. The installation was very simple, as illustrated. I encountered trouble at first, the printer did not recognized the CISS cartridges but after pressing printer's "change cartridge button" and pressing the CISS reset button in sequence, the printer is now up and running. EPSON TX100 73N. Thanks for the prompt delivery. The CISS is now fitted to my printer but the printer is saying "INK CARTIDGES NOT RECOGNIZED". So, I install back to original EPSON cartidges and the printer is working well except that it asking for replacement of the BLACK Ink 9IN/73N).
